California's Proposition 65, also called the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act, was enacted to warn and protect Californians from their exposure to certain products or water that may contain chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. All restaurants are required to post the "Safe Harbor" posting, and if your restaurant has a bar you will be required to post the "Distilled Spirits" posting (find the "Distilled Spirits" poster on the previous page).
